Percussion, Jazz Piano
Daniel Galliher, a native of the Albany area, is the fourth through twelfth grade instrumental music teacher in southern Columbia County’s Germantown Central School District and has held this post since the fall of 2008. Dan holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, where he majored in music education and minored in jazz studies. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music education from the College of St. Rose.
In addition to his teaching engagements, Dan has served as musical director and/or orchestra conductor for Class Act Productions, Colonie Youth Theatre, Germantown Drama Club, Upstage Productions, Saratoga Summer Stages, SLOC, The Clarkson Theatre Company, and SUNY Potsdam’s Musical Theatre Organization (MTO). He is also the drummer and backup vocalist for the Dave Strumfeld Group, a Latham-borne rock sextet (www.davestrumfeldgroup.com), and a member of the Crosstown Connectors, a local jazz collective.
Dan is thrilled to bring his passion for music and music education to the Cady School of Music!
Dan holds an initial New York State Public School Teacher Certificate in Music.
